7 Do’s and Don’ts on FB Pages

SHARE

I think you will agree with me that if you are a blogger or a small business, it’s super-crucial to have a Facebook page.

Having an FB page is one of the best ways to build a community for your brand (personal or business) and also to connect with potential customers. However, you need to steer clear of certain pitfalls and adhere to some best practices.

Here are 7 Do’s and 7 Don’ts to ensure you get your FB business page right:

7 Do’s

  • Choose a great image or video as the cover image. This is the first thing that people see on your page.
  • Post interesting quality content that is timely and relevant to your followers. If you have a bakery and patisserie page, don’t post pictures of pets on it.
  • Post on regular basis at strategic times.
  • Run contests or quizzes from time to time to engage the existing followers and add new followers.
  • Include links to drive traffic to your website
  • Make sure you ‘like’ or reply to those who comment on your post.
  • Post short comments. Experts say posts with100-200 characters receive 60% more likes and comments.

7 Don’ts

  • Ask others to like your post or follow you.
  • Tag people in picture. Unless it’s a fan who has won a contest or an incentive, don’t tag people.
  • Flood the newsfeed by carpet-bombing it with numerous posts. Space out your posts.
  • Post low-quality information or irrelevant gifs and memes.
  • Forget to post on the weekends or when your audience is online.
  • Post a photo with more than 20% text in it.
  • Make a nuisance of yourself by incessantly promoting your business and blog links in every post.
